Bilkent University is a beneficiary of “International Dimensions and Effects of Populism (IDEoPOP),” a HORIZON-MSCA-2023-DN-01-01 project funded with over € 2.4 million. Thirteen partners participate in this project that is coordinated by Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg in Germany. Prof. Pınar Bilgin from the Department of International Relations and Political Science and Public Administration is leading the training and research team at Bilkent University.
The project, “International Dimensions and Effects of Populism,” focuses on the foreign policy orientation and outcomes of populism to pursue training-based research. In collaboration with a partner from Bath University, Prof. Bilgin will cosupervise two PhD students, focusing on the subtheme of how populist political parties see the world and understand the international arena. The team based in Bilkent will contribute to the collaborative teaching and research effort and will organize a workshop in Ankara.
IDEoPOP will last for four years and is expected to generate strong and enduring international scientific ties.
