Please check the admissions web page for all the required documents. Candidates with missing documents by the deadline will not be considered.
What are the formats of sample essays and the statement of purpose?
Sample essays, which must be written in English, can be any type of manuscript (article, term paper etc.), which indicates the level of understanding of international relations. The level of written English and the quality of the paper may have a positive impact on the faculty members who will be involved in the selection process.
The statement of purpose must explain in a page the reasons why the candidate applies to the department. Clarity of objectives may have an equally positive impact on the faculty. Candidates are suggested to make clear in their statement as to what exactly they are interested in as their subject of graduate thesis; such as international security, international relations theory, European Union, political economy or area studies.

Do scholarships include dormitory accommodation?
Accommodation is not included in the scholarships. The department may offer a dorm scholarship for candidates whose permanent residence is outside Ankara. The student may also receive a discount for staying at the dormitory upon evaluation of his/her request to the department. In some cases, our postgraduate students are able to cover their dormitory fees by serving as dorm assistants.
How are the graduate applications evaluated?
The applicants are evaluated in consideration of their GPAs, ALES scores , GRE scores, TOEFL scores, and other required documents listed in the admissions web page. The candidates who fulfill these requirements will be evaluated by a committee and called in for an interview. Since the scholarship and assistantship quotas given to the faculty are limited, interviews may be decisive.
