We are pleased to host the academic workshop “Security Architectures Under Strain” to be held in person on September 12, 2026, at Bilkent University.

The workshop’s goals are to bridge the academia-policy divide by facilitating intellectual dialogue between scholars and practitioners on the critical challenges shaping today’s volatile geopolitical landscape. The workshop will focus on answering key theoretical and policy questions across four core themes:

·  Great Power Politics 

·  Alliances

·  Economic Statecraft

·  War and Peace in the Middle East

·  Nuclear Proliferation

The event will kick off with opening welcome remarks by Dean Özgür Özdamar and Head of the IR Department Assoc. Prof. Seçkin Köstem.
