Graduate Conference
International Relations in the Age of Uncertainty: Theory and Practice

30 May 2014, Bilkent University, Ankara

Department of International Relations, Bilkent University, announces its graduate student conference, which will take place on 30 May 2014. The theme of the conference is International Relations in the Age of Uncertainty: Theory and Practice. The last decade has witnessed popular uprisings in different regions of the world, a global financial crisis along with economic recession, trans-border civil conflicts, and military invasions in the name of democracy. Given the global political and economic turbulences, uncertainty has become pervasive in world politics. In this process, disciplinary boundaries of IR have also been challenged. Therefore, it is crucial to rethink theories, practices and methods of International Relations in light of such uncertainties.

This conference welcomes IR graduate students to a stimulating academic platform where they can share and discuss their research with fellow colleagues.

Themes of the conference are as follows:

Conflict Studies and Resolution
Environment and Energy Politics
Foreign Policy Analysis
