IR Seminar Series on the Middle East

Katerina Dalacoura, Associate Professor of International Relations at the London School of Economics (LSE) recently visited our Department to take part in our International Relations Seminar Series (IRSS).
Dr. Dalacoura gave a talk entitled \"Sectarianism, Ideology and Power in Middle East International Relations Post-2011\". Dr. Dalacoura has widely published in the area of political Islam, human rights in the Middle East, culture and ethics in International Relations. In her talk, Dr. Dalacoura touched upon a variety of issues, including conceptual clarifications on the notions of sectarianism, ideology, and power and analysis of the interactions of those notions with the foreign policies of the main actors of the Middle East, such as Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. Dr. DalacouraÔÇÖs talk was followed by a fruitful question and answer session in which students and faculty members discussed current developments in the Middle East region.
